It's remarkable how shocking and disappointing the Alberta NDP has been. And I'm a diehard Alberta NDP voter, only because there's no other option. Really makes me shake my head and wonder - there's so many smart people in the Alberta NDP - what is wrong with them for putting out something of such a low caliber.
Somehow I wasn’t expecting it. Because they’ve had eight months to prepare? Because I thought they’d learned from the last two election? Nenshi’s campaign wasn’t like… that.
Im in Calgary Shaw. The NDPs ground game is on point at least (which is a change). And the UCP seem to be having issues getting private lawn signs placed - they're outnumbered 2 or 3 to 1 by the NDP in my darker blue neck of the woods.

It makes sense though, ANDP is busy with their For Alberta, For Canada campaign and the federalist UCPers haven't been mobilized. Meanwhile the separatists can be dragged away from making mischief on boards to work on Derry's campaign.
I’ve called the ABNDP, I’ve called my NDP MLA to complain about their, IMO, poor and ineffective communication tactics. No one has called me back to discuss.
I can only speak for myself, but I don’t want a laundry list of UCP faults and failures rattled off a mile a minute - I’m aware of them b/c I’m politically engaged. It makes me dizzy listening to an otherwise competent MLA do so. And I certainly don’t need a sermon/lecture like Nenshi tends to drift towards when given airtime.
Tell me what you, the ABNDP, will do differently! Tell me why your policies are better for all Albertans.

I'm on the ground there and, while I'm no expert, I see a really strong candidate running a tight campaign. Lots of motivated volunteers and generally a good vibe on the doors. Again, no expert but it seems the most vocal critics are in the room with supporters just hammering on the party for not doing enough and not doing it well. The UCP rightly feels they don't have to do much except stand back and let the typical progressive circular firing squad do their work for them.
Time and time again I have emailed my NDP MLA with concerns about the ineffective way the NDP has chosen to communicate with voters. I find their communications on such channels as YouTube relentlessly boring and I said so. Surely, with the massive destruction caused by the UCP, the endless scandals, and the bend over backwards methods used by Danielle Smith to elevate the mouse-squeak, grievance-driven separatists into a national unity crisis, SURELY there should be more professional communications coming from the NDP to address the wrongs. As things are now, I don’t think they have a hope of upending the UCP if we are allowed to have another provincial election.
I had hopes that some serious and competent NDP staffers had remained when Rachel stepped away. Apparently I was wrong. Two months after the nomination (and 8 months after they knew this was coming) this is a shit poor job suggesting that they have lost the competence to be a govermnet in waiting. If Nenshi and Pancholi approved this then all hope is lost!

It’s as if the ucp has operatives in the party level management.
Communicate? With 89,000 members about policy? Whatever for?
Create evangelists out of communicating with the party ? Why?
