She was raised and trained to be a victim, me; not so much.
She’s unable to be forward thinking, or strategic generationally. Rather she thinks about immediate cash flow. Oh, and how do I look and sound!
Mrs Moretta, as she plays to her base and her primary employer the Enterprise Group, does not understand that they will move assets and money to where it makes more. Business for the most part has no soul, no conscious and no empathy and as she will find out - no loyalty. She’ll be left behind by them.
Had the interim premier had some concept of transition she would have recognized that green based energies are not a threat but rather a compliment.
In my Alberta Mrs Moretta we don’t play the victim card- we step up to the job. But that’s not something you do is it?

It is a sham amd lies. Attended the Sherwood Park event filled with separatist, Take Back Alberta and Alberta Prosperity. It was a disgusting show. The panel members are a disgrace. Trevor tombe did correct some inaccuracies of pensions. Retired judge became quite firm after accusations of judges being bribed and paid off. It was embarrassing to think of the depth of corruption that took place.
I relish the look of horror on Danielle Smith's face the day PM Carney announces the start of a resource corridor from Alberta to Churchill Manitoba, or even better, to the west coast... For this reason alone, the usefulness of Bill 5 (with all its legitimate shortcomings and concerns) would be immediately validated.
I brought something similar up — investment is down on new projects in North America since 2014. What would it hurt for the feds to say “fine, do the thing”? No private biz wants to build and at least they could shut the idiots up.
I suspect PMMC has, in effect, done that already, by signaling that the feds will greenlight the permits and permissions, and work would start the moment private backers sign up. A responsibility which Premier Smith has already acknowledged is hers.
Yes, that's quite interesting too. It checks off all the boxes for PMMC Bill 5 qualification, especially if a branch can service Churchill. It is national infrastructure that: provides tidewater access for AB oil; it removes our dependence on Line 5 pipeline through Michigan; it uses Canadian steel: it enables ON ring of fire development; and it provides needed jobs in construction and the steel industry.
Again, I suspect PMMC is setting the table ... it remains to be seen if Danielle Smith can serve up a dinner of investors, or pull away the tablecloth for her UPC base.
It is a total waste of a beautiful Alberta evening for progressives to attend these farce town halls. They are run by conservative governments as a pseudo democratic feature. The current iteration is no different than the ones from 30: years ago!
Progressives would be better to donate to the NDP and stay home and enjoy their beautiful Alberta evening.
Deirdre Mitchell-MacLean: That is a difficult thing to do. Why? Danielle Smith hates dissent, or contrary opinions. Her radio propaganda hour is an excellent example of this. Try getting on there and criticizing the UCP, or her. Next to impossible. She, and her UCP MLAs won't listen to the concerns of constituents. No responses to emails or phone calls. It's a dictatorship under the UCP.

While driving along Hwy 2, late afternoon on the 15th, there were signs on the side of the road that said QE II meeting at 7pm at some hotel. I thought it bizarre and hoped upon hope that it wasn’t some kind of code for something else.

No — the Red Deer one was held at the Westerner grounds. Then the Westerner started the next day so it might have been something related to that?
