Thank you for standing up with teachers against this UCP government. Promises for the future do not sove the current problems. Maybe it's time for oil and gas to take a bit of a backseat to the majority of Albertans who are not employed in the energy sector.
John Green once famously said he happily paid school taxes because he didn't want to live in a country with a bunch of stupid people. The UCP, on the other hand, continue down the path of turning education into a luxury commodity or, as Bruce McAllister betrayed with his insulting slap down of a student, a contemptible vice.
I really feel for the teachers as well at the students whose needs are not being met. Large class sizes , no EA’s and very likely a minimum of 5 different abilities in each class. How can anyone be expected to reasonably cope as a teacher. My nephew just completed his education degree in Lethbridge and it teaching in BC. We were just in Edmonton and looked at the 2 large signs advising “Future site of a school”. They have been there for 2.5 years and are looking as tired as the teachers are. We retired outside of AB 9 years ago, and as we get older, we are glad we did. AB health care and education used to be the best, and I know this from experience as a parent and someone with a serious illness. Health care isn’t perfect where we are, but I believe it is somewhat better.
You also have a government who understands its responsibilities as government instead of an ideologically suffocated leader bent on outsourcing their responsibilities to their donors.

Yes, so far so good!
Almost lost it last election though ☹️
I saw 😬
Someone in my orbit said if they’d have won, their government would have fallen by now 😳
We could only have hoped🤞🏻
