Throwing “parental rights” into any conversation is going to ring alarm bells. And parents ,of all stripes, are immediately going to get defensive. Just by saying that phrase, Danielle set the stage. And for many parents, any attempt for a reasonable conversation went out the window because all they could hear was that parental rights were being threatened. And here’s the huge irony, Danielle has taken away the right of parents to make the best decisions for their own child, and put the rights in the hands of a very biased government. No parents are winners here- and definitely no child.
The stupidity of this infuriates me. A phrase was used as a trigger. And it worked.

As I read her latest I call to mind a game my grandkids showed me called “The Floor is Lava”.
It is an exact replication of the life of Mrs David Moretta (smith). Sooner or later, sooner please, her foot (or her mouth) will fall into the lava and she’ll be consumed.
I have heard the same about food blessings; the priests/imams/rabbis were the ones with an education so they had better knowledge of the food had spoiled.
I was never able to get into religion. I asked too many questions, couldn’t be convinced that faith really was enough to go on. I tried for many years into adulthood because it seemed like something I should do but just couldn’t make it stick.
A lack of evolution of the text will definitely do that haha. There was a great story (I think he wrote a book, actually) about a man who tried to live as the Bible’s authors ascribed for a year and his wife got so annoyed she eventually started sabotaging his efforts. Little things, like sitting in all of the chairs in their apartment when she was menstruating so he had to buy a folding one and carry it around with him lol
