It's disingenuous for Parker to say volunteers didn't have access to the database. When I found out about it on Apr 27, I took a screenshot of the app instructions that clearly shows "search by name or address" Maybe volunteers didn't have access to all the info but being able to find anyone they want put a lot of people in harms way, including some of the recall proponents who were already facing threats of harm.

2) why whomever in the Premier's comms shop (who clearly wrote the presser for EA) was obviously not advised of the initial concern. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY
3) now that we see why Rath and Sylvestre were so confident in their petition numbers, because they could him the signature of any Alberta elector with this data.
EA will now need to directly verify, with each signatory, every one of their "signatures" for their results to have any credibility! You and I might be on there for all we know and I damn sure didn't sign (but maybe Bob from Goldbar signed my name with information from Parker et allike a good, compliant UCP sheeple separatist should to be one of Dani's useful idiots!),
No amount of random sampling will counter the obvious efforts at electoral fraud by the crooked proponents of this slimy separatist circus!
I am very mad, but I refuse to blame the civil servants at EA. Doing their job with next to nothing. Making human mistakes. They have been underfunded and kneecapped and have investigated Parker till the cows come home. And he hasn’t paid one damn fine.

Yes, as the dust on this issue is now settling , it seems the recent Law change by Amery precluded EA from investigating 'concerns' about the voter list and it's distribution. Citizens need to hold the UCP to account!!
Fair. They did send out the explainer that basically complainants need to provide all evidence for them to be able to see whether they should investigate, which would have helped a few of them
From what I am reading it appears that, as a result of legislation passed by the UCP government last year, Elections Alberta are now precluded from investigating a complaint unless the complainant also provides enough supporting evidence such that EA has a reasonable belief that an offence has occurred. This would suggest that the blame for EA not launching an investigation earlier in this case lies not with EA, but rather with the UCP government for neutering EA’s ability to investigate complaints.
I’ve always been bothered by the political exemption to the “Do Not Call” list.
Call me naive in this case but I had no idea the parties had any ability to see let alone manipulate this voter registry.
To me the next stop, after prosecution and imprisonment of the guilty, is the complete isolation of the voters list from all parties but Elections Alberta.
With that the stop of robocalls, and any and all non subscribed contact.

I was a member during UCP leadership contests (Kenney and Smith) to try to save that party from the leaders they select. I suspect that: 1.the voter list has spread much further than Elections Alberta is presently aware and 2. the UCP has shared its member list with separatist groups.
Nally may have had legitimate access BUT using it for illegitimate purposes should have vie with consequences; however, given his Boss's willingness to break, modify, change and ignore rules, along with the rest of his UCP Zombie caucus mates, and a politically neutered Elections Commissioner, I am not surprised.
I usually want to avoid rushing to judgment. I usually want to allow for the possibility that the real, nuanced account leaves such uncertainty that things which appear clear cut might not have been so for the people in the moment.
But when I read the dismissive and nonsensical letter sent Jen Gerson by Paula Hale, the Elections Commissioner herself, I leapt to judgment. She is the very officer charged with the responsibility of “safeguarding the democratic process by overseeing compliance with election laws, investigating potential breaches, and taking appropriate actions to address any issues that arise.” (Quoting the Elections Alberta website). She holds the title. And she did not do the job.
Jail time needs to happen here. Long jail sentences for those involved. How are the UCP and Danielle Smith involved with this? One has to wonder. This is really bad.
