I’m breathlessly waiting/hoping for the filing of recall papers for Premier Measles herself’ in Brooks-Medicine Hat.
Danielle Smith, Tanya Fir and Angela Pitt were totally useless in our efforts to keep the doors open at Airdrie P.O.W.E.R. a domestic violence resource for women which closed its doors the end of September after ten years of fighting tooth and nail to also get cooperation and support from most municipal politicians in Airdrie. After supporting the AP initiative as an aide to its founder and then a board member for five years, I no longer give an ounce of credibility to politicians who think the epitome of supporting the curse of domestic violence in this province is publishing vacuous rhetoric in local newspapers every November during DV Awareness Month. And all this after one of the UCP’s own cabinet minister’s sister was murdered on the steps of a SW Calgary elementary school in January ‘24 in a domestic violence related tragedy!
Leadership requires respect for your constituents, not just your base, as well as the ability to inspire them to better lives collectively
