So I seem to recall that Ralph Bucks, in addition to their $400 face value also were calculated to have cost $150 per cheque at the time in administrative costs. There were no applications etc, if you were an Alberta taxpayer you got a cheque.
This time there's an application, review, approve/deny and issue process, plus one hopes an audit.
Do you think Dimwit Dani even considered all this "red tape" and its cost of likely $300+ for every $100 issued, before deciding on the Dani Dimes program.
I suppose it's no fair of me to expect that level of thought and deliberation from this bunch of useless fools. I know there are people in the bureaucracy who can provide that answer in a nanosecond but you can be damn sure they were never asked.
A few more thoughts. "Without thinking". That could described everything that has happened since Danielle Smith took power. Hers is a completely useless government that has done nothing to improve life for Albertans and everything to make life worse. Her human capital is very low.
Influence peddling would be much more likely to result in charges. There are so many possibilities with this government, non? The disappearing gold cat and the trip involved in getting it is one example. Where did it go, anyways? No one has answered that question.
Alberta conservatism is creeping into the east (see the convoy) but the Alberta brand of grievance politics seems to be a hard sell for people who haven’t been fed a steady diet of it for generations.

It’s almost like the $100 to get a vaccine— some might sign up but most won’t.
The vaccine was quicker, and it was relatively easy to have a medical reason not to pay.
