My Christmas plans were chewed up and spit out in a flurry this year.
Growing kids, some who are having their own, and families are hectic when you’re trying to gather everyone in one place. As it turned out, my daughter had one last ultrasound nearby, on a day when my eldest son wasn’t working, and the day before my third was leaving for his Christmas travel plans, so we threw together an early Christmas. Of course, that meant shopping and prepping and organizing plus hosting it, which ate into my newsletter writing time.
And I didn’t want to add an arctic frost to everyone’s Christmas anyway.
Instead, I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
We’ve been through the wringer and back politically this year and the holidays are a chance to focus on family and friends, or some much needed quiet; if you’re lucky, you can get all three.
I hope your kitchens are warm and your fireplaces too.
I hope you get one thing you really wanted.
Most of all, I hope your spaces are filled with laughter and music, or at least one of those.
I’ll be throwing shade in your inboxes again next week :)
